i just started to play emerald again and im at regirock and i cant catch him and my pokemon dont cause status problems so i need sugestions i was thinking on putting him to sleep when i get a pokemon that can but it wont stay asleep long but its the best status problem to catch it with or so i heard that sleep is the best status to catch pokemon with anyone know if this is true or not?

I thought I remember hearing that sleep or frozen were the best statuses to induce on pokemon when attempting to catch them. I would get a a fast pokemon that knows a sleep/frozen inducing move and have the rest of the team have high defense, hp, and special defense. This allows for a lot of time to be spent throwing pokeballs instead of having to heal pokemon or shut the game off. Also bring a lot of pokeballs.
Rinse, lather, repeat and you will catch the Regis.
P.S. Just watch out when they run out of pp, they will then use struggle which lowers their hp drastically each time its used.
